Apparently, there are too lho left-handed snails. If judged from the hands of left-handed people which is more active use, assessed from the left-handed snail shells.

Left-handed snail species found on the berhabitat Satsuma snails in Japan. Satsuma left-handed snail shells have grooves circle anticlockwise, while the opposite normal snail satsumas.
Left-handed snails also have a different position genitals of normal snails, one on the right and one on the left. Therefore, left-handed snails can not mate with normal snail, creating the phenomenon of reproductive incompatibility.
Masaki Hoso of Tohoku University in Sendai and his team are interested in knowing the benefits of his left-handed snails are in the effort to defend themselves from predators and to know the evolutionary benefits.
Be, Hoso and his team designed the experiment predation. He put a left-handed snails in the same place with a predator, the snake-eating snails Pareasiwasaki. He let the snake attack on the snail.
Through observations, Hoso outlines, to eat the snails, snakes take the snail from the shell. "When attacked, the snake's head always tilted to the left," said Hoso.
Because the tilt head to the left, Hoso said that the snake can not catch a snail and out of his shell. Consequently, the snails were survivors of the predation process.
Hoso and his team revealed that the left-handed snail's great influence on his attempt to defend themselves from predators attack. Known, left-handed snails more difficult to eat than normal snails.
Hoso wrote in the publication, "This study shows that one gene which affects the reproductive incompatibility could spur the formation of new species through natural selection process."
